How it Works
The Classic

The Classic can be located up to 500 feet away from the building being heated.
The Central Boiler Classic Outdoor wood furnace is connected to the building it heats through underground insulated water pipes, usually ThermoPex.
The Classic contains a metal combustion chamber for a wood fire, which is surrounded by a water jacket. The fire heats the water, which is then pumped through the insulated water pipes into the building being heated.
The heat from the hot water can be transferred to most existing heating systems and the buildings hot water supply.
The water inside the water jacket reaches temperatures up to 185°F.
If the water jacket’s temperature drops below 185°F
a damper fan will open, letting oxygen enter the firebox, in turn causing
the fire to burn more intensely.
The fire then raises the temperature of the water which increases the
heat supplied to the building.
The Classic is designed to work with any existing heating system. A heat exchanger or direct circulation transfers the heat into a forced-air furnace, radiant baseboard, or radiant floor heating system. This allows for thermostatic temperature control.
The Classic is able to provide heat for all of your domestic hot water by adding a water-to-water heat exchanger. This allows you to turn off your hot water heater saving you tons of money per month, to the tune of $30-$80 per month.
